Project ‘I’m Possible’ is all about bringing you a completely raw uncensored insight into the people who make up the running community, especially the people of the ultra-running world. Everyone from the athletes, to the people who give up their time to help those athletes make the sometimes seemingly impossible (to the outside world), possible.
I am predominately a stills-based sports documentary/lifestyle photographer with a passion for capturing people in a raw state of emotion, freezing that moment in time for the world to see, both up-close and personal, and the wider pictured environment. Whether those emotions are highs or lows, every picture tells a story, and every emotion holds a memory.
My goal is to tell the stories of every person from the elites pushing for records, to the back runners, who often have deeply rooted stories, cutting far deeper than any visible scars, but still choosing to take themselves on new adventures into unknown territory, down paths they are yet to tread, not knowing what emotions that path will throw at them, testing the limits of both their body and mind, on their own personal journey of discovery.
I have my own personal journey with-in both running and photography. Although my running career is in it's relatively early stages, I have personally immersed myself into marathons and ultra-marathons, giving me a unique outlook from behind the camera.
At the age of 13 I got my hands on my first professional grade camera, a 35mm Nikon SLR camera, and since then I have spent the last 24+ years exploring how amazing the world from behind the camera can look.
Throughout my exploration behind the camera, there is four artists that have all inspired me. These four artists are all world renowned with-in there chosen field. Documentary lifestyle photographer Martin Parr, celebrity portrait photographer RANKIN, documentary war photographer Robert Capa, and fashion/editorial photographer David Lachapelle, despite them all coming from very different backgrounds, they all have their own unique way of capturing emotions, which has always drawn me into their work, and I suppose linked the dots into why I am drawn into such different types of work.
My life goal is to do for sports lifestyle documentary photography, what all my photography inspirations have all done for their chosen field of expertise.
